ABOUT ME

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist in Private Practice in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. I have a practice in Hillcrest and I do hospital visits at St Joseph’s Hospital in Durban.

After completing my Matric, I completed a Bachelor of Primary Education degree through the former Natal University (currently University of KwaZulu Natal). I taught at Primary school level for the next 6 years. During this time I completed a Psychology Major and my Bachelor of Arts, Honours in Psychology through Unisa. My Masters in Clinical Psychology was completed through the University of Limpopo, with the internship component being completed through the Department of Behavioural Medicine, Nelson R Mandela School of Medicine. After completing my Community Service at GJ Crookes Hospital in Scottburgh, I entered Private Practice.

In 2016 I completed a South African Diploma in Schema Therapy. I completed my PhD in Psychology through Rhodes University in 2021. The focus of my research was schema modes in eating disorders. In 2022 I certified as a schema therapist with the International Society of Schema Therapy.

During my career as a clinical psychologist I have presented seminars on eating disorders to the psychology masters’ students at the University of KwaZulu Natal, Howard College campus. I have also supervised clinical psychology interns at the King Dinizulu Hospital.

I am currently registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF). I am a member of the Durban Practising Psychologist’s Group (DPPG), the Post Natal Depression Support Association of South Africa (PNDSA) and the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST).
